About Sherry Been

Sherry Been is an enamel artist working with copper and glass to create sculptural heart forms and fine art prints. Her work explores resilience, emotion, and color—shaped through heat and layered by hand in her studio.

The Craft of Enamel

Each piece begins with hand-formed copper. Finely ground glass is applied in layers and kiln-fired at high temperatures, fusing permanently to the metal. Through multiple firings, texture and depth emerge—no two works ever the same.

The process is both technical and intuitive. Fire becomes a collaborator, transforming raw material into lasting form.

The Heart Form

The heart shape appears again and again in Sherry’s work—not as a symbol of sentimentality, but as a study of strength and vulnerability. Edges may be raw. Surfaces may shift in tone. Each piece carries contrast—fragile yet durable, expressive yet sculptural.
